What do the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) changes mean for your family?
Outside school hours care (OSHC) is a great way to enrich your child’s wellbeing and development.
In some welcome news for parents, as of 10 July 2023 child care fees are now cheaper for most families and more parents can access the CCS if your family earns under $530,000.
If your child attends either OSHClub, Helping Hands Network or Primary OSHCare, which are part of the Junior Adventures Group family of OSHC providers, these changes could provide up to 90% off your childcare fees depending on income.

The income limit to get the maximum amount of CCS is increasing from 85% to 90%.
Families earning $80,000 or less will get a CCS rate of 90%.
Families earning over $80,000 get a CCS rate that decreases by 1% for each $5,000 of family income. This rate reaches 0% for families earning $530,000 or more.
Families earning below $362,408 with more than one child aged 5 or under in care can still get a higher rate for their other, younger children.
What are the benefits of the CCS changes?
The Australian Government changes to the childcare subsidy will support families in the following ways:
Make outside school hours care fees more affordable for most families.
Those already receiving CCS will see an increased rate, reducing the amount they pay.
Families who may not have been able to receive CCS previously may now be able to apply.
The CCS applies to our uniquely curated Rise then Shine before school care, Stay & Play after school care, and even our holiday programs.
If you receive Centrelink social security payments and have questions or need to update your information, we recommend visiting the Services Australia website. Their support staff can assist you further.
If you are part of a school’s administration, leadership or governance and would like more information, please reach out to your relevant OSHClub, Helping Hands Network or Primary OSHCare contact.
We are happy to discuss the changes further with principals and understand any questions that parents may be raising at the school about the child care subsidy changes.
